Introduction

PRRF Conduct rigorous research on parliamentary matters, including legislation, policies, and government activities. We provide parliamentarians with unbiased, evidence-based information to support their decision-making and promote transparency, accountability, and good governance within parliamentary systems. Moreover, we also advocate for the importance of informed parliamentary work and advocate for research-based decision-making by Identifying critical gaps at the constituency and national levels to be undertaken, to raise the matters of public importance by drafting parliamentary interventions, background research for parliamentary interventions, examining relevant bills, research for standing committees’ meetings, as applicable and research to identify possible areas for Private Member Bills. As Parliamentarians represent their constituents and engage in legislative processes, it's imperative to have adequate support for effective parliamentary interventions and constituency engagement. This proposal suggests providing parliamentarians with dedicated associates to facilitate these tasks, including support in perception building through social media throughout the sessions and during off-session as well.

Objectives:

  1. Enhance parliamentary effectiveness through well-researched interventions and active participation in legislative processes.

  2. Strengthen constituency engagement by addressing constituent concerns and promoting transparency in governance.

  3. Utilize social media platforms to build positive perceptions and communicate parliamentary activities effectively.

Key Features of Lokniti Initiatives:

  1. Parliamentary Support Associates:

    • Each parliamentarian will be assigned a dedicated associate proficient in parliamentary procedures and legislative research.

    • Associates will assist in drafting parliamentary interventions, preparing briefs, and conducting research on relevant issues.

    • They will coordinate with parliamentary staff and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely submission and follow-up on interventions.

  2. Constituency Engagement:

    • Associates will engage with constituents, organize outreach programs, and address local issues on behalf of the parliamentarian.

    • They will maintain regular communication with constituents, attend public meetings, and represent the parliamentarian in constituency events.

    • Associates will serve as a bridge between the parliamentarian and the community, fostering trust and accountability.

  3. Social Media Management:

    • Associates will manage the parliamentarian's social media accounts, curating content, and engaging with constituents online.

    • They will develop social media strategies to showcase parliamentary initiatives, highlight achievements, and address public concerns.

    • Associates will monitor social media trends, respond to queries, and amplify the parliamentarian's message to reach a wider audience.
